Sugarpill Cosmetics!

Back to Cocktail Cosmetics I go to get some Sugarpill eyeshadows. These colours are crazy and so nice and just ugh, i just needed them.

This packaging is super cute and i love the little heart cut out detail on the single eyeshadows. Anyway, I got the Sweet Heart and Heart Breaker Palettes, I wanted to get the Burning Heart one too but they were sold out and so I just settled for that gorgeous purple from it. The red, yellow and orange scare me a little, but I did get bulletproof as i'd heard it's like the blackest black ever.

Top Left: Heart Breaker Top Right: Sweet Heart
Bottom Left: Bulletproof Bottom Right: Poison Plum

So on the left of these is nyx milk, the centre there is nothing
and on the left is UDPP
Right top to bottom: Mochi, 2AM, Velocity, Acidberry.
Centre top to bottom: Tako, Midori, Afterparty, Dollipop.
Left Top: Poison Plum Left Bottom: Bulletproof
So I did a pretty bad job of swatching these, especially on Velocity and Mochi, but as you can see they're pretty pigmented on their own, Acidberry and Dollipop barely show any difference. They're all super easy to apply, really soft and smooth, there's like no fallout and they're really easy to blend too.

All from the Heart Breaker palette.
Acidberry on the inner corner, Mochi on the lid
(I love this colour so much!) I used Velocity to make a
cut crease kinda thing and then blended 2AM in and above it.

I haven't worn bright eyeshadow like this in about 6 years but i's super fun and I even left the house like it! I feel I could have benefitted from some falsies but I didn't plan on actually going anywhere so yeah, it was just to play really! I really like how this look turned out, I was scared it was going to be super unwearable and i'd feel like a clown but I think it looked ok to go to the shops with! I probably wouldn't wear this to work mind you, maybe just incorporate one or two colours in with some neutrals.

The more I think about it, the more I want Buttercupcake, it's such a pretty yellow and i've seen so many people on reddit use it as an amazing inner corner highlight. Maybe i'll end up getting it along with Flamepoint and Love +, i've seen some wonderful Burning Heart sunset inspired looks that i'd love to try.

Also these eyeshadows are bloody huge! A whole 4g! I didn't know where to put my brush when I was using them, I feel like i'll never hit pan and they'll last forever!

LimeCrime Lipsticks!

Yes yes, I know, you probably dont like LimeCrime because of all the drama and bad people and blah blah, I don't care for that really, yeah it kinda sucks but I just want pretty lipsticks and I don't want to search high and low for good dupes.

So anyway, I ordered my things from Cocktail Cosmetics on the 19th, which was a Saturday, but the Saturday of the Easter weekend so I was expecting it to take a little while to come. I received an email on the Tuesday evening saying my order had been dispatched and that because of Easter to expect my items to take 3-5 working days to arrive, which was fair enough, because the post would be behind and whatnot. I was pleasantly surprised to find they actually got delivered on the Wednesday, which is cool. I don't like waiting for things to arrive, i'm super impatient, especially when its something i'm really looking forward to. The lipsticks arrived in a small cardboard box filled with cute purple shredded paper stuff, and they were lined up super nice so that the boxes made a whole unicorn which is really cool, I don't know if that was just coincidence or on purpose, but I like it regardless.

I ordered Airborne Unicorn (Medium purple with a neon note. Hue as mysterious as the animal itself...), Great Pink Planet (Pastel pink with a neon note -- think Malibu Barbie!), Coquette,(Pale, peachy-nude.) and Cosmopop (Soft orange -- think creamsicle.).

From L to R: Airborne Unicorn, Cosmopop, Coquette, Great Pink Planet.

Everyone knows the packaging is super cute so I'll ignore that, as for the lipsticks themselves, they have a faint vanilla smell, and to apply they're hard, but creamy, its quite odd! They feel a little heavy on the lips too but that could be because I don't usually wear anything on my lips. They do apply super opaque though, one coat is plenty to get a really nice finish and normally within half an hour I've licked all the colour away but i've had the same one on for 2 now and it's not budged at all, which is really nice.

Top left: Airborne Unicorn, Top right: Great Pink Planet,
Bottom left: Cosmopop, Bottom right: Coquette

These are all (badly) applied with one coat straight from the tube, all very opaque and not matte, but not frosty or shiny either. The only one thats not completely opaque is Airborne Unicorn towards the middle of the bottom lip, but that may well be because I didn't take off Great Pink Planet, which I applied before, properly. Strangely enough, the one I find hardest to wear is Great Pink Planet, I thought it was going to be Airborne Unicorn because who does purple lipstick? but I think the Barbieness of Great Pink Planet just makes it look a little strange to me. I was pleasantly surprised by coquette too since every other nude shade I've tried has looked awful on my skin, but I like how this one looks. I really like these lipsticks and I can definitely see past the price and drama associated with them, especially since they're made in the USA and are cruelty free,  I would quite like to get the rest of the shades, not that I could pull off mint green and yellow!

Hello there!

Hello! I enjoy cosmetics, cats and cosplay. I wanted a place where I can waffle on all I want about these things and figured a blog was probably the best place for this.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Robyn, I am currently 22 years old. I am currently studying a computing and IT degree concentrating on software development and working as a waitress. I have 4 cats and live with my boyfriend whom I've been with for 6 years. My cats are called Blackcat, Orangecat, Jessie and James and are all very lovely and just my favourite things ever.

I have recently been interested in cosplay and am currently making a Peach dress based off the one she wears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This is a rather frustrating progress as most of it is just trial and error and me hoping for the best since I've never really done any proper sewing before.

Makeup has always been a hobby of mine, ever since I was about 14 I think. I by no means consider myself an expert of any kind and just do things that work for me. Recently I found Reddit, and on Reddit there's a small place (well actually, it's rather large) called /r/MakeupAddiction and it quickly became one of my favourite places. Everyone there is lovely and they soon rekindled my love for all things cosmetic and probably fuelled the idea behind this blog.

I would imagine that I'll use this blog for other things not directly related to any of the things in the name, sometimes I like to bake, and I really enjoy going to the zoo or safari parks will probably have posts about those things too, just generally anything in my life that i do rather enjoy. I'd imagine the majority of this blog will be makeup looks that i've done, updates on my forever changing hair, weird or naughty things that cats have done and cosplay progress. Hopefully in the not too distant future I'll have some fun posts happening so I hope you'll be back to read.

Thanks,
Robyn x
